Colour Run - a fantastic afternoon
Back to NewsLast Friday saw our annual Colour Run take place and it really was a fantastic afternoon. Although it rained in the morning, the weather cleared and we were blessed with fantastic sunshine.
Over 200 students took part, which began with a fun warm-up organised by PE teachers Miss Veitch and Mr Rowell. Headteacher, Mrs McLaren then started the event, with the students running a total of 3km (three times around the school field), whilst being covered in a full colour spectrum of powder. This year we also introduced obstacles to the course, with a number of tyres for the students to step in and out of, and benches for them to jump over whilst being pelted by (soft!) balls.
The event was compered by Head of Drama, Mr Attridge, with various teachers throwing powder at the students as they ran around the field. The PTA also sold snacks and drinks at the event.
We are currently collecting sponsorship money, and all money raised will go towards improving our outdoor space at school.
