Year 10 boys and Year 7 girls contest football tournaments
Back to NewsOur Year 10 boys headed to Winklebury Football Complex last week where they were to contest the District Cup Final against Costello School. After full time the score was 1-1 which meant the game would go to extra time. The boys played incredibly well during the whole match, but just couldn’t get the ball over the line during extra time. Costello went onto score two more goals, and the match ended 3-1 to Costello. The boys were obviously disappointed not to win, but had played some incredible games and should be proud of how they have performed throughout the whole tournament. Well done to Ronnie H who was named ‘Man of the Match.’
The recent tournament for our Year 7 girls football team saw them finish in a very respectable 4th place. Ten teams from local schools took part in the event and the girls excellent performance in the early games saw them qualify for the quarter final, which they won 4-1. The semi-final followed. It was a highly contested game in which the girls played incredibly well. Unfortunately the game ended 4-3 after going to a golden goal. Well done to all the girls for an excellent performance, especially Kelsie S and Elsie L who played their first games for the team.
