Year 10s fine tune their revision techniques ahead of mock exams
Back to NewsOur Year 10 students are taking part in workshops today with educational provider 'Positively You’, learning study skills and revision techniques ahead of their mock exams next month.
Students have been learning about different revision techniques including mind mapping, producing summary posters, developing story techniques and drawing images, all of which are designed to make information easier to remember. Students have also filled out study time calculators, helping them to devise a revision timetable that works for them.
Head of Year 10, Mrs Graham said: “We have organised this session to set our students up to have the best revision and study skills ahead of the mock exams, and I look forward to seeing them demonstrate these skills in practice.”
David Jerome, Educational Presenter at Positively You said: “The students have been engaged, polite and friendly. The skills they have learned today will ensure they have effective study skills so they feel more motivated and positive about their revision.”
Feedback from students was positive including how they had learned new revision techniques they had never thought of using, such as drawing, and developed skills to help them plan their revision time more effectively.
