Year 9 have a fantastic weekend at PGL Liddington
Back to NewsOur Year 9s have been reflecting on their fantastic weekend at PGL Liddington in Swindon, where they took part in a non-stop programme of activities over the long weekend.
The fun activities included climbing, abseiling, canoeing and archery. The two clear favourite activities though were the giant swing and the raft building. The giant swing involved two or three people sitting together on a large swing, which was hauled up to 10m off the ground. Those on the swing then pulled a release cord to send themselves hurtling down towards the ground! The raft building also proved to be great fun, and it is fair to say that all students got thoroughly soaked!
In the evenings, students took part in activities including a quiz night, a bonfire night where they toasted marshmallows, and one evening several students enjoyed watching the Champions League Final.
Head of Year 9 and event organiser Miss Veitch said: “It really was a fantastic time. It was great to see our students throwing themselves into all the activities and pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. They all came back exhausted, and I am really proud of them all.”
