Happy 65th Birthday to The Hurst School
Back to NewsHappy 65th Birthday to The Hurst School!
The Hurst School is celebrating its 65th birthday today! On 13th September 1957, the school - then named The Hurst County Secondary School - opened its doors for the first time to 400 students, with a teaching staff of 16, very different to the 1000 students and over 100 staff that we have today! The school has undergone many changes over the years, but remains at the heart of the local community, and each student is also an integral part of our school community.
We will be revealing to students in the next couple of weeks how they can get involved in creating a special piece of artwork to commemorate this milestone birthday. This was due to happen in this week’s assemblies but has been postponed due to the passing of the Queen.
