New 'Mental Health Ambassadors' at The Hurst School
Back to NewsThe focus of this morning’s Year 7 assembly was on Children’s Mental Health Week, which starts next week, with a planned programme of activities across the school. Our Year 7s were introduced to The Hurst’s new team of Mental Health Ambassadors; Year 9 and 10 students who will be situated in the Wellbeing Centre – alongside our Wellbeing team - at break and lunchtimes to provide support for any students who need help.
Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Coneley said: “Our students are currently undergoing some training and once this is complete will have badges to make them identifiable for the students. We have a team of people within the Wellbeing Centre, but if students are looking to talk to someone their age who they feel can perhaps relate more to a situation they are going through, our team of ambassadors will offer a friendly face and help find a solution.”
